I know some of you have heard me say this already this week, but I have had one of the best weeks ever. I got a call on Sunday night from my sister. Some of you know she was married to my ex-brother in law for almost 20 years when he decided he didn't want to be married anymore and turned his life over to the pits of hell. Those of you who knew them, knew they struggled with various things through the years. She gave it her all and finally after 19 1/2 years of marriage, she filed for divorce in 2006. She felt like she made the right decision and moved on with her life. She bought an amazing historic house and began doing her best....interior designing it. It is the most beautiful house I have ever seen. She put her whole life into her boys and her new business. One fall day in 2007, she was introduced to a guy who just fell head over hills for her (something her ex-hubby never did). He just swept her off her feet. We fell in love with him and prayed for her future with him. You know my mom, she prayed he would either stay in her life if it was God's will, and if he wasn't, God would remove him. Well, with all this said, they flew to Vegas this past weekend and got married in a helicopter over the lights of the city. Weird, I know, but we are ecstatic. They are like a couple of teenagers who are all giddy, silly and funny to watch. Our family could have never been happier for her. She deserves the best!! My new brothers name is Coy Harris. He is 39 (a little younger than her), never been married before and has become an instant father to my amazing nephews. The boys love him!!
Well, with all that said, I feel like life is good for me and my family. We are looking forward to moving into the holidays with a new family member. The picture attached was taken last spring. Aren't they cute!!

The joys of potty training
OH how soon you forget the joys of potty training. I forgot how much fun it was. I am not actually ready to train Aidan, but he seems to want to do it himself. Last night, he told me he had to go poop, so in the middle of making dinner, I went to the dreaded throne. He sat there for less than a minute and "PLOP PLOP". He did it!! He was so excited and so was mommy, but what the rest of the evening entailed is not much to be desired. I battled with him all night long to give up what he thought was the urge to pee and put on a diaper. It was quite the fight. Finally, I nailed him down, put on a diaper, put pj's on him and off he went to bed. So, first thing this morning out of his mouth is "POTTY MOMMY, POTTY MOMMY". So, all I have done all morning long is sit in front of the throne and he has yet to go.....remind you he has been up for over 4 hours now. UGH!!! Well, we are about to leave to go out for the day and he is wearing a diaper....he just doesn't know it. Mommy is in charge and I so don't think he is ready. He is certainly understanding what potty is, but I think he is still a ways away. I am going to get serious about it in August when he is out of school. Well, for now, keep me in your thoughts as I venture out for the day with a very strong willed 2 1/2 year old.

Exciting Weekend!
Wow.....is all I can say about the weekend we just completed. It all started with Thursday night when we went with some friends to the annual Canyon West fireworks and festivities. It is always so much fun with bounce houses, food, friends and awesome fireworks. We usually go out and walk around and see friends we haven't seen in a while and our kids are free to run as much as they can. We didn't get home until after midnight. Then, we ALL slept in on Friday morning. We got woke up by a phone call at 9:45.....yes, I said 9:45. We all felt so good. We started cleaning the house and got it where we wanted it, and decided to take naps (not sure why we were so tired). Then, we went out to some friends and watched more fireworks, ate some good food and enjoyed good time with friends. Again, we were up until after midnight. We didn't sleep it, instead, I got up and had an appointment to get a massage, manicure and pedicure. WOW!!! It was amazing and I felt very pampered for a few hours. You know, that is all a woman needs is a few hours and she is good to go for a while. I was so exhausted from getting up early, so again, we all took naps in our house and then we were off to see MORE fireworks and visit family. We went to my brothers and sister-in-laws house and ate more food and tempted to watch more fireworks. We ended up just visiting with each other. Then, we ate more and got home way after midnight. Then, on Sunday our normal routine. We went to church where I taught the kindergardners. After church, we took the kids to McDonalds...YUCK!! Then, home for a well needed nap. Man, I feel so napped out from the weekend, but when you are keeping such late hours, your body is in shock. Then, Mark took Abby to the golf course with some friends and they had a blast. I must say, it was one of the most awesome weekends we have ever had. Daddy was not too happy to go back to work today.
Here are some pics from the weekend!!

Long time...no blog
I know it has been several years without a blog. I just made a decision that I am going to keep our page up and going and I will begin blogging on a normal basis. I have so many family members across the world who enjoy seeing our family growing. I hope all of you enjoy.

Quite a scare!
I must say I am very relieved this morning. I got a call very early in the morning on Friday from my sister telling me that she thought my dad had a stroke. Of course, I flew up from bed and threw my kids clothes on them and off we were. We drove to Decatur to the hospital and later that morning, they transfered him to another hospital downtown Fort Worth. Long story short, they told us on Sunday that he did not have a stroke. He still does not have feeling in his right side and we are moving on to other things. They are thinking it might be a work related injury and will take action on what he does next. We were so thankful and our prayers were answered. We gave ALL our thanks to our Lord and Savior. Thank you to all who prayed for my dad. We are thankful now that he is seriously considering retirement. He has been with the same company for 34 years and it is time for some family time.

Our big three year old!!

Abigail had just turned 3 a few days before this picture was taken. She is quite the young lady. She is very smart and learning so much at school. We have little neighbor girls who like to play with her. One of them is 6 and the other is 2. I have posted a picture of the 2 girls last weekend. It is still pretty warm here and they were thinking they were going swimming....but mommy said "No, you don't swim in October". So, they just ran around and played like this. I couldn't resist getting this for future embarassing moments. Enjoy!!
Starting the fall in Texas

Well, as most of you know we are looking forward to the fall in Texas. Boy, it was a hot summer and we get really tired of the heat day after day for months. Mark works out in it and comes home and is just exhausted from the heat just sucking all of his energy out of him. We just celebrated Abigail's birthday on Sept 18th. We had a small little party on her actual birthday for her little neighbor friends and then we had a big celebration on the Friday night after. It was so much fun. We had it here in Weatherford and had 60+ people come. We have a lot of friends and wanted to have all of them there. We catered it from a mexican place here in town and it was a big hit. If any of you know who Dora the Explorer, well that is who the "theme" was. Abigail is in love with that show and that is all we have heard for months. So, now that we have heard nothing but Dora for so long, mommy and daddy are really tired of her. I think in the future, we will not do a theme and go with something a little more subtle. Our little man, Aidan is 7 1/2 months now and is just growing like a weed. I am so in love with him and he is just the best baby we have ever known. Both of our kids bring us so much joy. We don't know what life would be without them. I am loving being a mom. It keeps me busy and on my toes.
Our lives are always busy with church activities and spending time with family. Mark's sister was just here from Africa for 2 weeks. The time flew by so fast and as always, it was not near enough time. We tried to squeeze as much as we could with her and had a lot of fun times. She went home to her family and the entire family are planning a trip home for furlow in mid-November of next year. We are counting down the time already. We miss them.
Well, it is getting late and I must start getting my kids ready for bed. It is Sunday night and we are relaxing after a busy weekend. We have a pretty calm week and are planning to go out of town next weekend to visit friends. The next weekend we are having a neighborhood garage sale.... I can't hardly wait...NOT!! I hate doing them, but we are trying to get rid of so much junk.
Some of these pictures are a few we have taken over the past few weeks.
We love you all and I can't wait to hear back from you guys soon.
